This is a list of
companies that REQUESTED that we list them.
When you purchase a wind speed sensor, please remember that these companies have directly requested that they be on this list. That means that they are interested in you as a customer. Please look at their web sites and consider them.
Our three criteria that we "prefer" for this list are:

(1) That they measure wind at less than 5 mph.

(We at reasonablepower.com custom manufacture low wind speed startup Wind Powered Generators, and we want the wind speed measurements to be relevant to our customers.)
(2) That they report the speed of the wind in a Windows(R) compatible format.

(Whether they report temperature or humidity or anything else is not relevant to being on this list.)
(3) That they report to be accurate to within 0.5 mph.

(This accuracy can be very difficult to obtain, and you might pay attention to this list when buying a wind speed sensor.)
Or, at least they have asked us to list them (and we would like to help other companies that might help our customers).
If you want your grid tie or inverter company on this list then please tell us.
As far as we know, ALL of these are capable of being hooked up to a Windows(R) 2000 or XP computer via a USB port, or an RS232 Network connection, or an RS422 connection. We hope that the manufacturers are making them easy for you to use. If you order one and it is not easy to use then please tell us so that we may consider removing them from this list.
